His forthcoming book, ‘Challenge and Continuity’ (published by Vallentine Mitchell), examines rabbinic responses to modernity, science and tragedy. He is a regular contributor to local and national media.
Rabbi Birnbaum is married to Elisheva BSc (Hons) MAR, who combines her communal duties as Rebbetzin with her professional work as a paediatric occupational therapist in private practice.
They have five children, Nechama, Shimi, Tobi, Sara and Ayala, and in their spare time they all enjoy exploring the Hadley Wood countryside together.
